Huron River/Lessons from Penny

One of the biggest lessons that Penelope has taught me recently is to try and slow down. It's SO hard, but SO important. These little people have absolutely no comprehension of 'destination', they only know about the journey. They stop, they wander, they sit down 1000 times to pull grass and flowers, to collect rocks and, in Pen's case, to hang out in the river. They have not had it forced into them yet that we always need to be busy and to be moving along. I'm choosing to allow her to be curious as much as possible, which requires a LOT of learning and patience for me, but she is my greatest teacher on learning to just be a proper, natural human, and I hope to do her proud.
